The crew at EMC are excited with their latest resto-mod project a 1969 Chevrolet C10 long bed pickup truck. This project will incorporate components of engineering and styling that will take this classic example of an American pick-up and transform it into a stunning custom street machine. This second generation Chevy pickup truck is extremely popular among automotive hobbyists/enthusiasts. With an extensive selection of stock and after market hi-performance components, any level of restoration and/or modification can be reasonably accomplished.
For this particular project, our experienced technical staff provided our client with a variety of options that offered flexibility in regard to the timing for each stage of the restoration and a monthly billing cycle with established cost considerations which suits our client.
As we begin this frame-off resto/mod project, we will post future updates and photographs of each stage. Beginning with the C-10 frame, our shop director fully discussed with our client the pro’s and con’s of painting or powder coating. Given this information our client opted for powder coating. After disassembly the frame will be inspected and prepared for media blasting and powder coating.
Next stage will be the selection of OEM or after market suspension parts. Depending on how the power train will be configured, the correct selection of parts will influence the ride, comfort and ability to handle enhanced horsepower and torque levels. Our highly experienced parts manager will source product information and pricing options for individual parts and complete kits. This information is then submitted to the client along with our comments and recommendations where applicable.
As this project develops we hope those who follow it will have the opportunity to better understand the nuances of the restoration process and the highly professional individuals guiding these efforts.
